She launched her post-school career with a role in the television movie, “A Girl’s Guide to Sex” in 1993. Since then, she has gone back and forth between film and television projects, including roles in such films as “Nobody’s Fool”, “Someone Like You”, “The Majestic”, “21 Grams”, and “Finding Neighbors”. She has played guest-starring, recurring, or co-starring roles on such shows as “New York Undercover”, “The Pretender”, “Dharma & Greg”, and “Law & Order: LA”. She is most widely recognized for her starring role on “The Shield”, and for her recurring roles on “The Mentalist” and “Touch”.
