In 1979 she starred in Nosferatu the Vampyre and won a Bambi Award for Best Actress. For her role in the 1981 film Possession Adjani won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award and Cesar Award for Best Actress. She also won the Cannes award for Quarter the same year. In 1983 she won another Cesar Award for One Deadly Summer and was nominated for another for 1985’s Subway. For 1988’s Camille Claudel she won another Cesar Award and a Silver Bear Award and was nominated for an Academy Award. Isabelle took home another Cesar Award for 1994’s Queen Margot and again in 2008 for La journee de la jupe. For her artistic contributions she was made a Chevaller de la Legion d’honneur in 2010. Isabelle has two children and has been romantically linked to Bruno Nuytten, Warren Beatty, Daniel Day Lewis, and Jean Michel Jarre.
