Serrat’s debut album Ara que tinc Vint Anys was released in 1967. He has recorded a total of 36 albums and has been part of seven more tribute albums. He was awarded a medal by the Spanish government in 1996 for his contribution to Hispanic culture. In 2000 Serrat was awarded one of ten Medals of the Century by the Spanish Association of Authors and Editors. He is also a part owner of the Mas Perinet winery.
