Porter played bass and provided background vocals from 1972 to 1980 and again from 1987 to 1992. He played on their albums including Toulouse Street, The Captain and Me, What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits, Stampede, Takin’ It to the Streets, Livin’ on the Fault Line, Minute by Minute, One Step Closer, Cycles, and Brotherhood. Some of the band’s hits include “Listen to the Music”, “Long Train Runnin’”, “Black Water”, “What a Fool Believes”, “The Doctor”, and more. Tiran Porter released his debut solo album Playing To An Empty House in 1995.
